Dear Sir,
Scholars Bangladesh, organizer of the ‘First Non Resident Bangladeshi (NRB/PBO) Conference-2007’ and ‘First NRB Manpower Development & Opportunities Conference-2009’, is working towards creating a bridge between NRB experts and policymakers to identify the existing opportunities and take necessary actions to formulate and implement effective policies for the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
Scholars Bangladesh recognizes the importance of ethical practices & has taken initiative to establish a nationwide Ethics Club for future generation to practice ethics in their professional area as well as in their social life with the objectives to build strong ethical values for sustainability of the nation. This will be a platform for the students, professionals and other entities to discuss, analyze, redefine ethical standards & practices in their social and professional life.
With these objectives, Scholars Bangladesh has launched Ethics Club nationally with 15 clubs at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka Medical College, Sir Salimullah Medical College, Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, North South University, American International University Bangladesh, East West University, Independent University Bangladesh, BRAC University, Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology, Scholastica International School, Sylhet Govt. Pilot High School, Alatunnessa High School. Scholars Bangladesh believes that in 5 years we can establish Ethics Club in major institutions of the country. Also, Scholars Bangladesh has a plan to form clubs with similar objectives in institutions abroad.
Ethics Club Bangladesh celebrated 25 January 2011 as ‘Ethics Day’ with a Rally in Dhaka. Afterwards there was the Launching of the Website www.ethicsclub.org and Cultural Program on ‘Humanity and Patriotism’ as part of the ‘Ethics Day’ celebration. Scholars Bangladesh believes that the world should celebrate ‘Ethics Day’ on January 1st and pledge people in committing towards becoming a better human being by practicing norms & ethics, honesty, patriotism, non-communism, service to humanity etc.
We are requesting you to provide us necessary support, help and guidelines in recognizing 1st January as ‘International Ethics Day’ and also to help us place the request to the appropriate department to the UN.
Your cooperation and support can help build a better world.
Sincerely
M E Chowdhury Shameem Dilara A Khan
